Se descubre al chino más antiguo
Acabamos de leer en la página BBC News el reciente descubrimiento por parte de unos científicos chinos y de la Universidad Washington (St. Louis, EE.UU) de 34 fragmentos pertenecientes a un esqueleto de Homo sapiens en la cueva Tianyuan (cerca de Pekín). La datación estimada tras las pruebas de radiocarbono dan una fecha entre 42.000 y 39.000 años, lo que lo convierte a este ser humano (cuyo sexo no se ha podido determinar) en el más antiguo de Asia, con lo que la tesis del origen africano del ser humano es puesta nuevamente en duda.
El interesante hallazgo ha sido publicado este mes en la revista Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
